CHILDHOOD, MR BRAMBILLA ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION

The Hon. Michela Vittoria Brambilla was elected today, with the votes of the majority, president of the parliamentary commission for childhood and adolescence.

The Hon. Brambilla, former Minister of Tourism in the Berlusconi IV government, had held the same position as chairman of the Commission for Childhood and Adolescence in the 17th legislature, during which no less than five fact-finding investigations were deliberated and carried out (poverty and juvenile hardship, juvenile prostitution, right of minors to benefit from the national artistic and cultural heritage, the right to health of disabled minors, minors “outside the family”).

“I thank you – said the new president – for the trust placed in me. There are around
10 million minors and by definition they do not vote, but their problems are ours
because they represent the future. I will ensure that the voice of children and
adolescents is heard in Parliament, according to a working model tested and
consolidated during my previous experience as president”.
